Via Ferratas

Via Ferrata

Via Ferrata

Their are now 4 Via Ferratas within easy reach of the Orange House. Just enough to made a week long activity holiday. Some of these Via Ferratas can be extended via scrambling for the competent.

A very modern occurrence, equipped by the Spanish Federation of Mountain Sports. The routes are part funded by the local town halls and the Federation to increase adventure tourism on the Costa Blanca. Down load available for Ponoch, El Cid and Castello. Newer version out soon, for up dates go to the facebook page.

El Ponoch Via Ferrata: Was equipped in 2008 it is 250m of vertical height gain. Followed by a two pitch abseil. It is possible to continue to the top of the mountain via a grade 3 scramble which is well worth doing.

El Cid Via Ferrata: Is the oldest and longest route, is does traverse  a lot in order to find the line of least resistance.

Castello de Salvatierria: The shortest route being only 90m high but still interesting with a wire bridge. Perhaps combined with climbing in the area or El Cid.

There are other Via Ferratas being install which should be finished shortly.

“We believe that we are one of the most flexible climbing course providers around, this is due to the fact that we emply local guides and we own the accommodation for the Spanish courses. If you dont see anything in our timetable that fits then get in touch, we can move things around, swop bits from one course to the other, offer different venues etc. After 8 years of working this way we can find something that fits just want you are looking for”.
