“Sport climbing” is the style of rock climbing where the routes are protected by semi-permanent “Bolts”. There are many ethics surrounding the type, material, placement method and spacing of these bolts.
With a modern equipped sport climb it should be relatively safe to fall from any point, with the notable exception of gaining the first Bolt.
The majority of single-pitch routes in Europe and indoor climbing wall are “Sport climbing”.

Experience
No previous experience is necessary, but it would be advantageous to have a working knowledge of basic personal protection equipment and belaying skills.
Course content
You will cover all aspects of Sport (bolt protected) climbing, bolt recognition, lower off recognition and how to use them correctly. Ethics and styles of sport climbing. On both single and multi pitch routes.
Achievement
On completion, you will have a much deeper understanding of sport protected routes and the equipment used, be in a position to competently second harder sport climbs, gain the confidence to competently and safely tackle sport climbs at your limit.
Equipment
For all courses we recommend you bring your own shoes, harness, helmet and belay device. We can supply the above should you have any problems. All other equipment provided at no extra cost. Ask if you need all equipment and we can provide it.
Accommodation
On a 5 day course, 7 nights of accommodation are provided. Where possible single rooms will be available. The house is self catering and you will have many opportunities to go shopping or feel free to eat out in the close village.
Transport
You will need to arrange your own flight to Alicante airport. We will discuss with you private transfer or using public transport to arrive at The Orange House. All transport during your week is provided. Shopping trips are included before and after each day.
